Dictionary of Computer and Internet Terms: Bcc
Bcc
business abbreviation for "blind copies" (compare CC). In e-mail headers, Bcc: precedes additional addresses to which copies of the message should be sent. Unlike the Cc: header, the Bcc: header is not sent out with the message, so the copies are "blind" (i.e., recipients of the message do not know that copies are being distributed).
Using Bcc:, you can send a message to a large number of people without giving them each other's e-mail addresses, thus protecting their privacy.
