atmospherics
- Retail marketing: elements such as store lighting, temperature, noise level, scents, wall coverings, architecture, and display fixtures that can be studied and/or manipulated by retailers to produce an effect on consumer buying habits. Atmospherics are thought to influence the customer's shopping moods and time spent in the store and are used to create or reinforce the customer's desire to buy a product.
- Broadcast: phenomena that produce disturbances in broadcast reception creating static, such as lightning in a storm.
