alphanumeric
describing a code or string of characters that includes both letters and numbers and/or punctuation marks or mathematical symbols. Most match codes, unique codes assigned to computer records as an identifier, are alphanumeric. For example, a match code might include the first, third, and fourth letters of the last name, the ZIP code, and the house number. The match code for Albert Becker at 761 Brentwood Road in Stamford, Connecticut, would be BCK06905761.
