If you’re selling products as your home-based business online, do you look at your return customer possibilities? This is a good thing to consider especially during the stage you are researching products to sell. Not all products lend themselves to a lot of return business.
Take for example WideScreen TVs. Most people only want one and won’t buy another one for perhaps many years. How do you get repeat business with products like that? With product lines like this, you can look at accessory products (I’m not sure if Widescreens have accessories, but you get the idea) or add-on products (such as extended warranty service). Generally product lines like this do not have a lot of return business potential.
Take for example, another product line such as cat toys. If you’re selling products to cat lovers, you can find plenty of other products they will like. Think cat furniture, cat ID tags, etc. Product lines such as this can accommodate lots of return business.
Consider how many times you can service one customer (as in cat products) versus going after a one time sale for Widescreen TVs. Choosing your product line with this in mind will give you the opportunity to establish repeat customers and give you an profitable edge. Welcome new customers, but don’t forget your existing customers!
