Big Changes at the Blog Herald
This falls under the "what doesn't get reported the same day it happens is old news" category, but I wanted to bring you up to speed on some changes happening with the Blog Herald.
Blog Herald is one of my all-time favorite blogs. If you want to know what's happening on the business end of the blogosphere, that's certainly one good place to go. Recently, the site got sold to UK outfit, Bloggy Network Ltd. (Here's a word from the new owners about the sale.)
The company that purchased Blog Herald from founder Duncan Riley only a few months ago, Blog Media, had been divesting itself of some of its properties (Here and here).
I thought that odd frankly, but had no inside track as to why that was happening. Now, the answer is self-evident. It apparently was part of a grander scheme to move the company into a new business model. In fact, Blog Media just changed its name to Problogging, Inc., and is focusing on providing a number of services to bloggers and companies wishing to enter the blogosphere.
Some of the Blog Herald editors are leaving the company as well, .Martin Neuman and Thord Hedengren to be exact. Some new faces have come on board to fill their shoes.
I wish both new ventures much success. One thing can be said, this wild and woolly place called the blogosphere is never static. It's always changing, and sometimes, it's hard to keep up with the goings on.
