Best Business Credit Cards to Use Overseas

Business travelers flying overseas have a lot to consider; getting to the airport on time, possible language barriers, and of course the matter of business on hand. But one thing they might forget to consider is how they plan to pay for their business expenses, and the additional costs of carrying a business credit card that requires foreign transaction fees.

Foreign transaction fees range anywhere from one to three percent or more of each purchase, and can accrue pretty quickly throughout a trip overseas. Lucky for business travelers, there are a number of business cards that don't require these fees. And as a bonus, some business cards offer cash back or miles for your airfare and overseas expenditures, making them that much more valuable to money savvy business travelers.

If you're planning on crossing the Atlantic or Pacific on business in the near future, here are three of the best business cards to consider carrying overseas...

1.) Capital One Spark Miles Business Credit Card

This card gets the nod as being the very best for overseas travel because not only is are there no foreign transaction fees to pay, but it also rewards each purchase with 2 miles per $1 spent. That means that cardholders can earn miles toward their next business trip simply for making purchases on their current trip. Not a bad deal, right?

Other perks for overseas travelers include $0 fraud liability, travel and emergency assistance just in case, and the opportunity to fly on any airline with no blackout dates or seat restrictions. This card is light on fees and heavy on savings, making it one of the very best credit cards to use on foreign business trips. there is a $59 annual fee, however it's waived the first year as an introductory offer.

    2.) American Express Business Platinum

For the businessperson that likes to travel in luxury, this card from American Express grants you unlimited access to most major airline airport lounges (United and Continental are the exceptions).  So while the annual fee required by this card appears steep at $450, it's actually a pretty good deal considering that a similar airline lounge Priority Pass costs $399 per year, and doesn't include all of the benefits afforded by this AmEx business card.

These benefits include a $200 annual statement credit on an airline of your choice for incidental fees, including checked bags and eligible in-flight purchases. The 24/7 Business Platinum Concierge offers some of the best customer service in the industry, and members earn a 20 percent travel bonus when using Membership Rewards® Pay with Points.

This card may be costly to carry for business travelers, but there's certainly some bang for your buck and the luxuries afforded may be worth it for frequent flyers traveling abroad.

3.) Chase Ink Plus Business Card

Finally, this business credit card from Chase has - of course - no foreign transaction fees, but is also especially useful for travelers since it rewards 2x points per $1 spent on the first $50,000 annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel. It also grants access to over 350 airport VIP lounges each year and two complimentary lounge visits each year, and when cardholders redeem their points for travel redemption through Ultimate Rewards they received an additional 20 percent off. The annual fee to carry this card is $95, though as an introductory offer it's waived the first year.

Be it for business purposes domestic or abroad, these cards are worth checking out since they offer great travel perks and reward you for the purchases you plan on making anyway.
