Are your online partners trustworthy?
A recenty study from the Ponemon Institute, along with TRUSTe, asked 6,486 adult consumers which companies were the most trustworthy in terms of privace. A total of 711 companies were named, and American Express was ranked as the most trusted company followed by eBay, IBM, Amazon, and Johnson & Johnso.
73% of consumers say the protection of their personal privacy is either "important" or "very important". I'm not sure why that isn't 100%, especially given that of those surveyed, 45% feel they have control over their personal information. This is down from 56% in 2006.
