Are Network Marketing Products Really Overpriced?

You often hear network marketing critics make the claim that products sold by network marketing companies are overpriced compared to other similar products. Is that really true?

In the first place, network marketing companies usually offer unique products - ones that aren't sold anywhere else. Therefore there is no direct comparison. Still people might hold up a product they claim is simliar and claim that it sells in stores for less.

The real truth of the matter is that most contemporary network marketing companies offer products and/or services that have true value in the marketplace. If you compare most nutritional products sold by MLM companies to in-store retail products, you will find there is no comparison.

One example from my own experience is TriVita. Some time back I was looking for a good sublingual B12 supplement. Sublingual B-12 supplements are not vitamin pills you swallow – you stick them under your tongue and let them dissolve. The idea is that vitamin B12 cannot be absorbed well in the digestive system so it’s best absorbed under your tongue.

Over the years I have been continually in search of a good Sublingual Vitamin B12 supplement. I have grown discontented with vitamin stores which seem to carry a hodge-podge of different brands – some of which look like they’ve been sitting around for a decade or two judging by the dust on them.

That eventually brought me around to TriVita. If you Google "Sublingual B-12" you will find that TriVita comes up near the top so I decided to give them a try. They were the high quality supplements that I had been searching for and I have been a TriVita customer ever since. I am not involved in the network marketing side of TriVita but I am a devoted customer and would be hard pressed to give up their product.

That's just an example from my experience, but you can usually find that to be true with most MLM products you look at. This is because network marketing companies MUST compete with Wal-Mart and lower quality everyday generic products. Network marketing companies have to provide innovative, high quality, difficult-to-find-anywhere-else products in order to compete in the marketplace.

Not all network marketing companies offer unique, high quality products. And the ones that don't tend not to stay around for long.
