A Second Look at Exponent Trading
In this blog post, I talked about the network marketing company - Exponent Trading. Interesting that that blog post now ranks #1 in Google for 'exponent trading' even ahead of the Exponent Trading site! But I digress.
Since that blog post, I've had a chance to take a closer look at the company. I admit to being a bit skeptical about Network Marketing Companies like this but when two eBay 'rock stars' (Jim Cockrum and Skip McGrath) threw their support behind Exponent Trading, I sat up and took notice. These two trusted individuals are not typically network marketing people and they both gave it some careful, thorough review before throwing their support in the hat.
In Differentiation and the MLM, I said that one of the issues with Network Marketing Companies is that bringing your own vision and concepts into the company is often discouraged or just forbidden. One thing that makes Exponent Trading stand out in that respect is that they do seem to embrace ideas and bringing your own way of doing business into the organization within their framework. Exponent Trading gives you tremendous flexibility on what you can sell and how you can market it. This makes Exponent Trading a good choice for both the experienced online seller and the new online seller.
In fact, those are the two groups that can benefit most from Exponent Trading. Experienced sellers can benefit by teaching others how to sell on eBay along with other online venues and earn money via the Network Marketing structure. Beginning sellers can sell through Exponent Trading and earn money that way, while at the same time learning the ropes of selling on eBay, Craiglist, and other online channels. Beginning sellers can then work into experienced sellers over time and benefit further from the structure.
Exponent Trading also has a good support system in place. I've tested it a few times. In all cases I either got right to someone on the phone or I had a call-back within an hour.
Exponent Trading is still quite new; it was only launched in June. This is both a blessing and a curse. It has many of the problems of a newly launched business, such as an incomplete eBay listing interface. For example, you can't specify a return policy in their listing interface. If you wanted to use the eBay return policy space, you would have to first list the item via Exponent Trading, then go to into eBay and modify it. This is something they're working on and over time it's likely to be a more complete listing interface.
The fact that it's new is also an advantage. I've always said that if you find a Network Marketing company that's legitimate and looks like something you might want to get involved with, the best time to join is when they're new. You can get nearer the top of the organization where there are bigger profits to be made.
