traffic department
advertising agency department responsible for the coordination of all phases of production. The traffic department keeps track of the various stages of all work so that at any given time the status of a particular job can be determined. This department is also responsible to see that production deadlines are met and that the work is delivered or shipped on schedule, particularly advertisements and commercials that must be received by the media by certain dates in order to be inserted in publications and broadcast schedules.
