night cycle
second operating shift used by regional Automated Clearing House in processing inter-regional ACH transmissions, ordinarily between 10 P.M. and 1:30 A.M. Night cycle processing, commonly used by corporations to move funds into bank concentration accounts, gives next day funds availability (same day if after midnight), and is subject to a Federal Reserve processing surcharge for items handled.
