also called gypsum board, a paper-coated, gypsum-filled paneling used for interior walls. Sheetrock® is one brand.

Example: Interior walls in older houses were generally made of lath and plaster. Drywall, which generally comes in 4´ × 8´ sheets, has been used for that purpose for more than 40 years.
