Dictionary of Marketing Terms: bottle hanger
bottle hanger
piece of heavy paper imprinted with an advertising message, and cut and folded so that it appears as a kind of collar when hung around the neck of a bottle. Often found in supermarkets or grocery stores, bottle hangers are an economical way to attract new customers and to reach known consumers of a product with information about a special sale of that product or about a new or companion product. Bottle hangers are also sometimes hung on supermarket items during a political campaign to reach large numbers of people in a local shopping area.
