Wanna get lucky? So do we, but we’re not about to start handing out business cards all over town to complete strangers. Actually, not business cards, but Attraction Tickets.
You see, there’s a new online dating site called Admit an Attraction. Here’s the idea: when you briefly meet someone in the real world you think is hot, you hand them an Attraction Ticket. The ticket contains the URL for Admit an Attraction as well as a personal code that sends the recipient directly to your online profile.
What’s the point of this? People who bother to actually read the ticket and check out your profile can see you’re not some lunatic who randomly hands out cards, but a productive member of society who gives great backrubs and loves watching sunsets on the beach while holding hands. Puleeze.
Perhaps we’re overly skeptical. These cards might actually be useful to the terminally timid. You know, people afflicted with a shyness that is criminally vulgar, to quote one of our favorite songwriters. But we figure if you’re too terrified to open your mouth in front of some hottie, you probably don’t have the stones to toss around Attraction Tickets.
The good people at Admit an Attraction offer some solid advice to novices. “Start a casual conversation with someone and use an Attraction Ticket to ‘close’ it,” they suggest. Or simply “keep an air of mystery by handing an Attraction Ticket to someone you haven’t spoken to.”
Of course, if we were charging ten bucks for a pack of 12 tickets, we’d say the same thing.
