Good morning, moms. So how did you do on your weekly challenge of purchasing tubs and sorting through those things that need to be put away and stored more efficiently? I heard from Linda in Massachusetts that the challenge is just what she needs to get her moving. She had her plastic storage containers already; she just needed a bit of a shove when it came to filling them up with her items.
At this end, my two and a half year old daughter and I went through all of her craft supplies. We bagged up buttons and beads; we purchased small containers in which we stored her paints and crayons and markers; and we filled up the new there drawer storage bin we purchased at the yard sale last weekend.
We then went through our holiday merchandise, wrapped up the breakables and restored everything. And, finally, I boxed up all toys and games that she has outgrown and that are not yet suitable for the infant. In the end, we labeled everything with our cute little label maker!
So my challenge to you this week is to go through your closets and pack up all items that you no longer wear. Yes, that includes the ones that you swear you will one day wear, when you lose that extra weight or you get out of the house for some fantastic dinner and drinks, even though you know, realistically, they will remain on those hangers for many more years to come. Tackle your shoes, too. Out go the scuffed ones, the broken ones, and the ones that are so threadbare you can see your toes through the sides. Anything that you have not worn in a year has to go! Give the ones in good condition away to a local charity and toss the ones that long ago saw better days.
Let me know how it goes by sending an email my way. My goal is not only to clean those clothes out but to reorganize the closet by getting a few shelves in which I can store my shoes and purses. I also want to color coordinate my outfits so that when I need a certain colored shirt I know where it is.
Happy Monday, Working Moms!
