What do dieters and little children have in common? For starters, they’re both whiny and ill-tempered, but that’s not where we’re going with this.
Actually, they both have trouble maintaining a decent wardrobe. Kids for the obvious reason that they keep outgrowing their overalls. And dieters for the less obvious reasons that, at least in theory, their old pants now fit like an oversized garbage bag.
And then, of course, there’s the yo-yo syndrome. If you’re anything like our past girlfriends, you keep losing weight, and gaining it, and losing it, and, yes dear, your ass really does look great in those jeans.
It’s amazing nobody thought of this business sooner: a clothing rental service for dieters as the transition from one size to another. The newly launched Transitional Sizes offers designer clothing in a range of sizes for a monthly rental fee.
A size 24 fur-collar cardigan by Ralph Lauren will cost you $25, while a size 8 Alfred Dunner top goes for $5.
The clothing items provided by Transitional Sizes, most of which have never been worn, are carefully inspected and professionally cleaned before they are shipped off to customers.
Inventory changes on a daily basis, so what is posted on the site one day will probably be gone the next. Once customers are finished with the item, they are required to have it dry cleaned and shipped back in its original box.
Transitional Sizes is no guarantee you’ll actually lose the weight, but at least you’ll look good trying.
