In addition to my day job as the CRM Director for the American Cancer Society, High Plains Division, I’m also a volunteer with its national signature event, Relay For Life. I would like you to sponsor me, for any amount, as I walk in my community’s Relay. Here are five reasons why I’d like your support:
1. Childhood leukemia
3. Tobacco’s relationship to cancer
These are just five examples of progress in the fight against cancer funded by the American Cancer Society.
That may sound like a lot, but our peer review committees tell us there are 89 grants totalling more than $43 million that also deserve funding. Any of these grants could help us make more progress in the fight against cancer.
Thanks to these, and other advances, the cancer death rate in the US has declined for two years in a row.
If you are already a volunteer or donor fighting cancer, thank you. If you’d like to join there are two ways you can help.
First, you can sponsor me. Or, second, you can join the Relay For Life in your own community by contacting the American Cancer Society. Whether you can donate time or money, in any amount, we can use your help.
