In business, it’s a fact of life that first impressions are important. Many prospects won’t tell you why you didn’t get a sale, but often it has to do with perceptions on the first encounter.
I’m fully aware of all the concerns about spam (believe me — I get my share), but if you want to be taken seriously from an electronic perspective you’ve got to demonstrate a willingness to be professional. That means your email address should be something like firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com, not firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
The Register agrees with me on this subject. Take a minute and hop over to Small biz urged to adopt ‘professional’ email addresses, read the article and let me know what you think.
