Finding a company or buying something on the interwebs has become a way of life for many people. Heck that’s where I do the majority of my shopping — on my schedule at my convenience. I bet you do a lot of shopping online too.
So that means you need to make sure your website visitors have enough confidence in your business — no matter what time they are shopping — to buy from you.
The best way to do that is to make sure they know there’s real people behind the site. So here’s what you need to do.
- Prominently display your contact information — phone, email, twitter ID — on the front page and purchase page of your website.
- If you have an “About Us” page (you should!), make it human not corporate. Talk about the people in your company, describe who does what.
- If you have an online chat option, prominently display hours of availability and make sure someone is available during those hours.
It’s really easy to help your visitors have confidence that they are doing business with a real person behind a company on the internet. What other suggestions do you have? Please leave a comment.
