Yell, a site I’ve covered previously for making a stupid move, has come up with an advertising strategy that’s pretty smart. They’re using GPS-targeted ads to cover buses and bus stops with targeted advertising.
In addition to the location-specific bus advertising, the bus stops will feature kiosks that allow for limited local browsing/searching. Some pics can be found at TrendHunter. Hat tip to Kent Shaffer.
Local online advertising and local search is an area that’s just now starting to see some real attention. When such a large percentage of buyers are using it, it’s about time we’re finally beginning to give it focus.
