In this blog post, I talked about the value of WorldWide Brands OneSource. One bullet point of that value was Supplier Research. Here I’m going to expand on that a bit because to just say OneSource provides Wholesale Supplier information is not really giving the whole picture.
WorldWide Brands actually qualifies their suppliers before putting them in their database. You can find your own suppliers without using a product like OneSource, but there are always questions to be asked before you can do business with them. After all, not all wholesale suppliers are willing to do business with Home-Base Businesses. According to Colette Marshall of WorldWide Brands:
“… we have a full team of researchers daily researching wholesalers to verify that they are legit and that they will work with online retailers on all platforms including eBay. We do not list anyone our database that has not be researched and actually spoken with to verify information that they provide. We also keep the database updated. If a wholesaler does not maintain the requirements to be in our database, they are removed.”
This is important from the perspective of streamlining your product sourcing. It’s like jumping to the front of the line in terms of finding suppliers who will work with you. Now that’s not to say it’s not worth trying to find your own suppliers. Perhaps you can find some that will work with you that aren’t in the WorldWide Brands database. But the WorldWide Brands OneSource is a great supplement or a great product to use for all your sourcing needs.
