Big projects are daunting. I am in the middle of a big project for a client. It feels redundant at times, but overall it is an important project. Nonetheless, the scope of it is daunting to say the least.
How to get something like this done when you:
Don’t feel like it?
Have other things to do?
Most business owners already feel overwhelmed and isolated, so adding a big project to the mix will not help those feelings.
Take it one piece at a time.
Set rewards or benchmarks (If I work straight through until 10AM, I’ll take a walk/coffee break / other pleasure)
Read David Allen’s book, Getting Things Done – this is a fabulous resource for anyone.
And finally – think of the end result. See yourself with that project behind you – the pride, joy, and other feelings you have once it is done and behind you.
Now get back to work!
