For those of you who base your business at home, I applaud you. You’re not only saving yourself and your business money, you’re helping the environment.
This is especially true if you live in Houston, Cleveland, Detroit, Tampa, Kansas City or Cincinnati. According to a recent report by Forbes.com commuters in those cities spend over 20% of their income on commuting costs. That’s a pretty big chunk of the pocketbook and doesn’t even include delay factors and health concerns.
Be mindful of these costs when you hire employees. Is commuting really necessary? Can your employees be home based too?
