The team at Windows Messenger has launched an ad campaign to push their upgraded Messenger service.
Communication Evolved begins with a smart, web 2.0 site that clearly communicates their goal, which is to encourage you to make the switch to Windows Messenger.
We’ve all seen the headlines: EIGHT HOSPITALISED IN MESSAGING INFERNO and MY FILE SHARING EMERGENCY TRANSPLANT HELL. Now imagine a world of the future, where the number of fatalities from interacting with friends and colleagues was a big fat zero. Call us a bunch of crazy dreamers, but that’s just what we’ve been doing.
MSN Messenger’s team knew that by appealing to the humor of the tech crowd (geeks love dark humor), this site will most certainly get Dugg. (was Dugg by me here)
What makes you laugh? Is it people on fire? Dead birds? Senseless violence?
Yeah, I have that macarbe bone as well. Windows Messenger knows that their demographic does too. Smart marketing.
Suggestions: Flash may be the best platform for video, but it’s not the best platform to encourage blogosphere buzz. The fact that I couldn’t easily quote the site’s hilarious intro (gasp, I actually had to type it in by hand), made me less inclined to blog about it. Luckily for them it was a slow news day today…
