Eyeglass maker Vision-Ease Lens is now the largest buyer of wind energy in Minnesota. They will be using 16 million kilowatts of wind power, every year, to power their 150,000 square foot plant. The move will keep 15,000 tons of carbon out of the air every year. The latest move comes after Vision-Ease consolidated two locations into one, to save more then 12,500 gallons of gas in shipping, and after they switched all of their lighting to fluorescent, saving another 800 tons of carbon.
Now if only they would make eyeglasses with miniature gps units, so we can find them when we put them down.
