Last week was the semi annual Seattle Gift Show (there is one in August as well) held at both the Washington State Convention Center and the Pacific Market Center. The show is a wide encompassing array of wholesale markets under the broad umbrella of ‘Gifts’.
These shows always provide a whirlwind affair for me and with each passing year, I get more effective at attending them. The show is held in close collaboration with the Pacific Market Center, which is a permanent market center located south of Seattle.
So I can usually figure out what areas to focus on ahead of time and plan my time. In shows of this size, it’s good to have some sort of plan especially if you can’t attend all the days. I also try to avoid wasting time in booths that I don’t think will be worth my time.
However if time allows, I will browse around in places I didn’t plan for. The more I can do that, the more product sourcing discoveries I seem to make. Trade shows are wonderful way to source product for your home business, especially if you sell products in venues like eBay.
