The White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families, chaired by Vice President Joe Bide, will have its first meeting in Philadelphia on Feb. 27. The topic: “Green Jobs: A Pathway to a Strong Middle Class.”
Green jobs mean more jobs for the middle class, according to the task force Web site. “Building a new power grid, manufacturing solar panels, weatherizing homes and office buildings, and renovating schools are just a few examples of ways to create new good quality jobs — green jobs — and strengthen the foundation of this country at the same time,” according to a post on the site.
It goes on to say that, ultimately, green jobs that aim to reduce energy costs translate to more disposable income
The Alliance of Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs attended the launch of the task force during the new administration’s transition period.
