In this post, I talked about using Drop Shipping to drive product shipments for a home-based business. If you use Drop Ship Suppliers or Fulfillment Centers to fill your orders, the actual shipping of orders tends to become abstract and it’s easy to just forget about it, leaving it to the third parties.
However, it pays to be aware of where your suppliers and fulfillment centers are located. For example, we have a fulfillment center located in Miami. This past week they have been temporarily ‘out of business’ due to the power outages associated with hurricane Wilma. It’s important to know this kind of information, because any possible delays in order shipping need to be communicated to your customer. Customers will be understanding of delays due to weather events such as this, but they won’t be if you don’t inform them.
