In my October 12 post, I reported and commented on the 27 New Jersey hospital workers who were caught peeking into the medical record of actor George Clooney, who had been treated at the hospital following a motorcycle accident. This evening I was writing some of the discussion questions for a management course that I’ll be teaching online for the New School University beginning this week. And this got me thinking…….
Clooney seemed concerned that the hospital employees had been suspended over the peeking incident. So here’s the question I open to all of you:
What would you do if you found that some of your employees had looked at the records (electronic or paper – doesn’t matter) of a well-known person who was your patient? Post your comments below on how you think you might deal with this.
