Many of the mistakes women in business make are those that men struggle to avoid as well. These include lacking self-confidence when dealing with others, failing to defend your ideas and opinions, and having a poor professional image. Your professional demeanor, they way you dress, and the way you interact with co-workers, customers, and clients all combine to form your professional identity in the business world.
Openly displaying negative emotions such as irritation or anger can make others feel you are difficult to get along with and encourages them to marginalize you. So instead of succumbing to this type of behavior, take a couple of deep breaths when something upsets you. Take care to use positive reinforcement to motivate and persuade your business associates. You’ll be much more respected in the workplace for it.
