The air was filled with the smell of fresh fish as it should be- they were flying high through the air, ice flipping off their fins and onto bystanders watching in awe. As the excitement mounted, yells of enthusiasm and the frequent ruckus of shouts and applause cut the morning chill with the warmth of showmanship. Ah, the great Pacific Northwest- a great place for fish. And, nothing beats the action, the theater, and the showmanship of World Famous Pike Place Fish.
When I began my trek to the great Pacific Northwest, searching for the recipes that have donned the pages of cookbooks boasting plank roasted salmon and mashed Yukon Golds, I didn´t plan on seeing any theater in Seattle. Guess again. I never found their Broadway, but the often taken for granted art of showmanship lives within the halls of Pike Place Market.
