In an effort to move 2008 cars off the lots and make way for 2009 makes and models and also to sell larger vehicles (which aren’t so popular right now due to gas prices), manufacturers are offering a wealth of new car incentives and rebates.
These rebates, discounts and leasing deals change rapidly, so a vehicle pricing and information Web site has begun making daily updates to the incentives and rebates information available on its Web site. The industry standard is to update these deals either weekly or monthly.
The daily updates should be helpful both to consumers and to car dealers.
Robin Lewis, director of the incentives and rebates information center at NADAguides.com — the Web site now publishing the daily updates — says incentives and rebates are an integral part of the process of car research and buying. They have, she says, a significant impact on consumers and the types of vehicles they ultimately decide to purchase.
Here is an example of how helping the consumer also helps the retailer. It sounds like a winning development all the way around.
