Small Business Q&A
I have a solid portfolio demonstrating my work. But now I have a potential client who wants me to do the work first and then let him decide whether he wants it or not. Should I just walk away? He could potentially be a very good client, but my days of working on “spec” are over. I did a lot of it in the beginning, and am not interested in doing it anymore.
Sounds to me like you’ve already made your decisions. Yep, just walk away. The reason you own your own business is so you can do it on your terms, not someone else’s. If he truly wants to do business with you, he will.
The thing about this type of prospect is that they normally turn into the client from you know where. Listen to what your intuition is telling you. It’s right on target.
