Finished work for the day? In some fascinating city in England.
Tourist Tracks, a UK company based in Cambridge, has launched a series of downloadable self-guided audio walking tours in MP3 format. Instead of joining a tour and following a guide on his or her schedule while straining your ears from the back of a crowd, you can now simply download a self-guided audio walking tour. Locations include London, Bath, Brighton, Cambridge or Oxford.
DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE TURNIP?
Copied across to your iPod or MP3 player, each city tour pack contains between one and three walks. Each walk gives visitors an ideal guide to the historic sites of the UK’s most interesting cities — bar Mickleton, a little thatched village in the Cotswolds where I saw the biggest turnip you have ever seen"?¦.
Anyhow journalist Tim Gillet and editor Warren Clark put this together with experienced tour guides and the full support of the local tourist information centres.
Off to that historically magnificent place that is the UK? May be worth checking out www.tourist-tracks.com/tours and get walking.
