Wal-Mart’s PR efforts are looking up…so to speak, or at least that’s what the company hopes will happen with its new hire. As reported by Brian White on bloggingstocks.com, Wal-Mart has hired Harriet Hentges, a former nun and conflict mediator to help Wal-Mart better address some of its more challenging company issues and pr issues.
On the PR side, one of the most important things PR folks can do long-term for your company whether you have an in-house communications person or utilize an agency is to help you engender a strong and worthy presence in the market and with your partners and stakeholders.
PR folks have a significant skill set aimed at helping a company tell its own unique story in the best way possible.
And it’s apparent from the Wal-Mart hire that even the largest and one of the most recognizable name brands in the world is still humble enough to recognize when its story needs some rewriting.
Does your story need rewriting? Do you know your company story? Do you have questions about how to craft the best story possible to help you engage your company’s presence in its market arena? Email me and we’ll answer them in upcoming posts!
