From the patient’s standpoint, finding a doctor is often an uncomfortable task. Opening the phonebook tells little, recommendations from neighbors may or may not be useful, and we can’t always get a referral from another healthcare professional. Websites will tell us more, but websites are also static documents.
What about video?
Video is very common in people’s lives today, from video cameras to web cams, YouTube, and TV shows that are happy to host the good, the bad and the ugly from ordinary people. My inclination is that in markets where your patients are reasonably participating in social networking, short video clips that introduce your practice location, your staff, and your clinicians would be welcomed. Equally important, they’ll make a positive addition to your practice marketing.
