I got this button in the mail a few days ago from UPS. It came with no instructions, only a news release telling me about the new nationwide online printing network they have launched.
Being the curious person I am, I plugged it into my computer. A light in it flashed a few times then became steady. And nothing happened. So I pressed on it and voila I was taken directly to the new ups site — theupsstore.com/print And it looks pretty cool.
According to the release, every aspect of the UPS user friendly program is built from the small business perspective with the ability to work on the fly and manage print production from any computer with internet access.
What’s pretty cool about this service is that it provides a one page view with a pull down, accordian style menu so you don’t have to navigate back and forth when selecting printing options. You can actively page through a document preview to select print options like paper, binding, and covers which are applied in real time.
On your first visit you’ll have to register at the site to take a look around, but there is a helpful demo to give you an idea about what’s in store. Give it a test drive on your next print job and let me know what you think.
