While you can post via the web, the best part is you can send photos
to TwitPic from your mobile phone and they’ll be posted as a tweet.
Last night I experimented because I want to be able to tweet photos from BlogWorld and New Media Expo next week.
I sent a photo of my cats
and within seconds (really!) a lot of people had clicked through and
sent me replies about my boys. People love pictures and they especially
love pictures of animals and kids.
I wouldn’t normally send stuff about my pets, but I was testing. And, it’s a good lesson…
Your peeps want to know who you are. The photo gave a glimpse of my
personal life and something that’s important to me. It started
conversations with some of my Twitter followers who I don’t know
otherwise and opened the door to future conversations.
More and more it’s becoming clear that intimacy is the key to
developing relationships with prospective clients. Give of yourself and
you’ll get back. I’m not advocating sharing every detail about your
life. I’m talking about sharing tidbits that help people get to know
you as a caring, empathetic, savvy, generous person.
