In the blog post titled Training and Support in a Home Based Business, we looked at some bullet points on training and support for Network Marketing companies. Now let’s see how another network marketing company stacks up on these points. I blogged about ITV Ventures in Forget the Warm Market! Use Built In Leads and Home Business Model Solves 3 Business Problems.
ITV Ventures is an infomercial company that markets many products via various media channels. Their business model allows home based agents to take the infomercial calls and get paid a commission on each sale they make. How does their training and support stack up against the points mentioned in that blog post? Let’s take a look.
How is the training delivered (Paper, Multimedia, Seminar, other)? – Training is abundant in ITV Ventures as you might expect. It is delivered in all possible forms: paper, multimedia, phone conference, live seminars, and webinars. There are two weekly conference calls devoted to training. Each Thursday, there is a product specific training call where the home business agents will learn about specific products being sold. Each Friday, there is a home business agent “Q & A” session where home business agents can submit their own questions and listen to answers.
How often are the training materials updated? – Periodically the hard copy training materials (paper, CDs, and DVDs) are updated and are mailed out to the home business agents. The weekly conference calls mentioned above also fill the role of keeping training material up to date.
Is there support in the organization? – There are two support organizations in ITV Ventures. One is Customer Support which has the role of providing support for the products, the orders, and the customers. The second is the Home Agent Support which carries the role of supporting the home business agents who answer the infomercial calls. This company also has very strong upline support. If the direct upline is not available, you get the information for people further up the line.
Is there a local support group? – There is a local support group here in the Seattle area and from what I understand, there are support groups in most major cities. ITV Ventures is a very strong supporter of local group formation.
All in all, the training and support structure of ITV Ventures is very good. If we were giving grades, I would grade it an A minus. Do you have a network marketing company you would like to size up on these points? If so, send me an email by selecting “contact advisor”.
