A site called simpletracking.com allows tracking of packages (supports most services) via RSS. So, you have an important shipment? Just enter the tracking number and simpletracking will create an RSS feed for you. Plug it into your RSS aggregator, your My Yahoo, Google Home Page, or Firefox LiveBookmark and you can track it effortlessly (without visiting the carrier’s site and tediously entering in the tracking number).
Another good reason to use Firefox: Use the Firefox search engine capability. All kinds of search “engines” are available to plugin to your browser so that you can search virtually any site and track nearly any package. Take a look at some of the add-on engines here. Adding them is as easy as going to the search bar, clicking on the search icon, scrolling down the little drop down menu, and clicking “add engines”. And you can track packages this way too by adding the appropriate carrier engine (UPS for example).
