We’re compiling a list, based on YOUR input (this means that we would love for you to post a comment after you read this post, please).
The list is a simple one: “Where are the TOP ten places to find new business?”
This could be virtual (through a website), an object (your rolodex or Outlook) or a physical location.
Simple ideas really can produce HUGE results. Have you ever had a breakthrough from a simple tweak to an idea?
So I’ll start. Here are my thoughts on the Top Ten Places To Find New Business:
1. Your rolodex – call someone you’ve not talked to in a while and see what they are working on. Let them know that you are working on a business goal and if they know anyone in need of your services and the quality you provide, to please let you know who they are and you will do all the legwork in following up.
2. Your rolodex (part 2) – Call happy customers and ask them the same question as above. Also ask if you could get a letter of referral from them, on their letterhead. Two birds with one call. (note past posts on the importance of letters of referral – we’ll discuss this again soon)
3. Your local newspaper should post information online about upcoming business events. Find an event that is new to you but that should fit with your prospect base or potential referrer base. I really strategize in this area – you can’t do all events – so be selective and value your time when you decide where to go and what to do. More on the “how to” later.
now.. your ideas….. please comment… so we can get a wide group of answers.
