Wondering where the best place to work is if you are a female interested in moving to the top?
Each year the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) creates a list of top places to work for females interested in moving up the corporate ladder. These companies have at least two women on board. NAFE examines the number of women on the board, those running major operations and those earning top compensation, among other things.
NAFE also lists twelve critical factors in winding up on top as a female executive, based on things that they learned from women who have climbed the corporate ladder. Having access to challenging assignments, having great role models and working for a company that removes bias barriers from the evaluation process are key, female execs say.
Allstate, American Express and IBM all made the top ten list.
Unfortunately, NAFE and Catalyst have found no growth in women who serve as corporate officers or on boards.
