Breathroughs can only happen in the present – so be in the here and now!
We all shift from thinking from the past, future, and present – it’s natural. Here’s what I mean by each:
If only I had done ______, life would be different.
That’s not the way we have always done it.
My request was turned down before, so it will likely fail again this time.
One day, I will go back to school and get my masters degree.
I will worry about that later.
I should wait to see how the PR campaign goes before determining my next step.
I really want to ensure this project’s success. What can I do today to move it forward?
If I want to overcome failures of the past, I need to change my approach. What should I do differently and how can I get started?
Even though I do not know how well the PR campaign will work, there are actions I can take that make sense in addition to the PR campaign. What ideas would I offer someone else in my situation?
What can I do today to get my goals back on track?
When we are being in the present, we are open to discontinuous change, or what I call a breakthrough. Being in the present means that we are engaged in making something happen.
If you are frustrated, unsatisfied, or bored, be present to what’s going on and what you can do today to move your goals forward.?
