I really like funny lady Tina Fey. With little time to watch anything on television, I generally just flip through shows at night when I’m sitting in front of the computer screen answering personal emails but 30 Rock just cracks me up.
Anyway, in the interview Tina was commenting on being a working parent and she said that being a working parent is a difficult life, and a lot of times you keep saying that it is impossible, but then you just keep doing it.
How appropriate is that! I feel this way almost on a daily basis. There are so many things to take care of-laundry, dinner, the kids, myself, job things-that I sometimes sit down in front of the computer at the end of a very long day to work and I think, “There is no way that I can do this.”
But then I do.
I think part of it is loving what you do. I know Tina loves it-at least, she certainly has perfected her craft.
I know I love it, too. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Yet still, almost daily, I wonder how in the world I will ever get it all done.
So it is good to hear that other working parents are out there asking themselves this very question!
Now, off to make lunch, shower, walk down to the park and then get to the coffee shop by 2 to meet a client-all in just over two hours.
Here’s to being a super working parent!
