Seems there’s a lot of lying going around these days.
According to the news media, the opening ceremony of the Olympics didn’t quite present the truth of the situation. And then there’s the recent “oops” by John Edwards and past fibs by other prominent people on top of all the “lying” issues in recent years — think Enron, Martha Stewart and plenty of others.
So does that mean it’s okay to lie in or about your business? Absolutely not.
Here’s a common “little white” I hear a lot. “We will be happy to serve you.” – or – “Our company…blah, blah, blah” when in fact the company is one little person sitting in a home-based office.
Just. Stop. Doing. That.
Be who you are. Telling the truth about yourself and your business will take you further faster than having to worry about what you told whom.
Don’t lie. The truth will always find a path to poke through.
What do you think? Is it okay to tell little white lies to get by in business? Leave me a comment.
