I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Dan Bliss of “PerfectBusiness”. Dan and partner Mark Verge founded Perfect Business with the intent to help entrepreneurs in a profoundly new and different way. PerfectBusiness prides itself on offering entrepreneurs specific tools and comprehensive guidelines, empowering them to create a successful business.
“We help people with ideas. The variety of courses and videos we’ve created for entrepreneurs are dynamic and interactive. They aren’t boring and you won’t be watching someone lecture from behind an office desk. Our business software plan walks people through the process of creating a business plan, and our pitch center introduces them to potential investors,” Bliss explained.
Clearly, Bliss has helped a lot of entrepreneurs from day one. What’s the first step he recommends anyone with an idea should take?
“Vet out your idea. Who are your competitors? Does another similar product or service exist in the marketplace? How are you going to be different and better? And most importantly, are you fulfilling a consumer need? Who are you really going to be helping? If you aren’t directly helping someone, there is no need for your business.”
Bliss explained how dumbfounded he is, time after time, when entrepreneurs continue forth with ideas that they’ve yet to determine are actually good ones.
“An idea is not a business. Until you take a concept, generate customers, and sell your product or service in a profitable way, you don’t have a business! All ideas need business models. What’s your success formula? Everyone good business has one,” articulated Bliss.
Clearly, it’s a common mistake. Don’t make it. Here’s what you should get involved with.
“What should you jump into? Any venture that helps people save time or money. More than ever, people are penny-pinching. Coupon websites are doing well. Businesses like WalMart and Target and Costco are doing fine, despite the economy. Luxury goods are struggling. But if you can sustain a business in this climate, improve its viability, test its waters – and it’s successful- you’re going to be in great shape when the economy rebounds.”
I want to urge you to check out ThePerfectPitch.com. PerfectBusiness is putting on this major conference in Los Angeles on October 26th. The keynote speaker is Richard Branson! If Bliss’ assertions are accurate, this conference is likely to be unlike others you’ve attended.
“We’re going to do much more than pump you up and send you on your merry way. We’re going to provide tangible information about how to start a business or grow an existing business. Our 30 speakers will each be speaking on very specific topics to help entrepreneurs take their business to the next level.”
I’ll be one of those speakers. Check it out! ThePerfectPitch.com
