In this blog post, I talked about using eBay to do product research. eBay offers an excellent opportunity to very quickly get an idea for what sells and what does not. If you’re looking for products to sell as the basis for your home-based business, few things are more important than choosing the right products.
There are several third party tools that have built up around providing eBay research services. One such company that provides these tools is Mpire. They’ve recently rolled out a mobile tool which I’m very excited about. It’s called Researcher Mobile and it provides eBay sales data on your cell phone. Here’s a screen shot.
While at the Seattle Gift Show in January, I sure could have used this. I had tons of products to view, but no ‘real time’ way to see if they would be candidates for probable success. This mobile service seems to provide just that opportunity so I can’t wait for the next trade show! And it’s not just limited to trade shows either. You can use this at yard sales, flea markets, Costco, or wherever.
Oh and if you’re interested in this, make sure your mobile phone is compatible with Mpire’s Researcher Mobile service. You can view their compatible device list here. I’ll be trying this out and will report on how good of an ‘Mpire strike’ it is.
