Cutting right to the chase, the number one habit that top sales professionals and sucessful business owners have when it comes to creating ongoing sales and new revenues is consistent follow-through. This ties into them also having tenacity to always follow up – whether it be after meeting a potential customer or referral partner, or whether it is after being told “no” by a prospective customer (which we know often means “not now”, or “I don’t have enough information to say yes”) The trifecta is that the follow-through and the tenacity lead to trust building — and the chilling fact is that most people DON’T FOLLOW UP to the extent that they could or should.
Consistently following through is a SKILL and a habit. Assuming you enjoy what it is that you sell, and you and others believe your products or services offer value to others, by simply being tenacious and instituting a consistent follow-up policy with everyone….. you are sure to succeed.
The good news is that you don’t need a flashy new wardrobe or lots of money to change your situation. You don’t need to buy a high performance car – these are all fine things, but what I am talking about costs nothing and offers you everything. Consider a laser focus on follow through for the next ten days and see how things grow for you. It is honorable to follow through, and it is courageous. Your whole being can be altered when you are doing what you say, AND you are growing your business simply by doing what others fail to do…. to take the effort and planning to consistently follow up.
