Continuing the journey in a junk shop in the Australian Outback
Picking our way through interesting bits of old tools and books, I hear boyfriend´s excited voice calling from an adjoining room.
"Look, Phoenix, look."
I make my way to the room storing the "big´ junk in it. Then I see it and I stop in my tracks, eyes wide open. I understand what he means.
My dream! My bed. A magnificent antique four-poster bed with beautifully carved posts stood in the middle of the room. Lace hung from the top beams and the polished mahogany gleamed and beckoned, glorious and romantic. I had dreamt of such a bed my entire life and here it was. In Broken Hill.
"I see it. I see it," I breathed. My perspective of the practical engineer who had given me a toilet roll holder as a "romantic´ Valentine´s Day present, changed; he was sweet and heroic after all.
"Isn´t it great," boyfriend beams from the other side of the room.
"Yes," I smile. Hang on. The other side of the room! I emerge from my blissful state and stare at him.
"The lawnmower. What a great piece of machinery," he beams standing over a grotty, oily piece of metal.
The final fateful choice…in Friday’s finale!
