If you need some amazing inspiration to keep going in your business, you need to make the time to watch a new documentary called Ten9Eight that debuts this Friday, November 13, 2009 in select AMC theatres across the US.
With all the talk about the recession, joblessness and woe in our country, this film will lift you up and let you know that yes, success is possible. It’s a story that starts with thousands of disadvantaged inner city teens who face incredible odds. The first of which is getting a good education. According to the film, in America a teen drops out of school every nine seconds. What kind of future does that give them?
But because of some twist of fate, these students enroll in a course at school that teaches them how to be entrepreneurs and they become engrossed in the world of business — learning how to read a balance sheet, define requirements for turning a profit and how to create a business plan (and put it into action!). They learn how to start a business and they do it. 24,000 of these students from across the US then enter a nationwide business plan competition run by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
The film follows the students through their journey, and chronicles their obstacles, fears and hopes along the way to the final business plan competition. Here’s a brief trailor that gives you a glimpse into the film.
It’s an engaging film that will keep you on the edge of your seat filled with hope for the competitors as they advance through the competition. Head on over to the Ten9Eight website to find out more details about viewing locations and the story behind the young people and producer of this inspiring documentary.
